| Home | The BEST Program EVER! Since adopting my daughter from a Chinese orphanage where she was basically tied inside her crib for 18 months with no encouragement and no stimulation and having been given just enough watered-down formula to survive, I have been researching everything I could find on brain development. Neuroplasticity--the ability of the brain to change--has intrigued me to say the least! And it makes a lot of sense that we need to take our children back to the very beginning and help their brains go through the stages of development and in the order brain development is intended. Finding a professional who could help us, however, has been a long and lonely road!There a lot of doctors and professionals out there and a lot of neuro reorganization programs who say they can help....but only a few I found over the years that actually identify and address the area of the brain which needs the help. One is called the Brain Balance Center http://www.bbcenters.org/ and I have been so jealous that the Centers were not located near Tampa...none even in the state of Florida! You can imagine how THRILLED I was to learn that Dr. Nelson Mane of the Mane Center for Non-Surgical Solutions in Tampa, http://www.manecenter.com/ADHD.htm , has created a program very similar to those at the Brain Balance Centers and it's right here in Tampa! After attending one of his seminars where he spoke so eloquently about neuroplasticity, nutrition, sensory, environment, toxins, lack of activity--and how they all play a role in our children's brain health--I had my daughter evaluated by Dr. Mane to see if his program could benefit her! He did a thorough evaluation and we put her on the program the following week! Within less than one month--the improvements in my daughter were astounding! This is the BEST therapy, the BEST program EVER! What do we like about this program? First, my daughter LOVES the therapy! She loves the office, the atmosphere and everyone associated with it. Dr. Mane and his staff have a true gift with children! Secondly, I like the fact that Dr. Mane specifies and addresses the area of the brain that has the deficiency and that he personally creates my daughter's therapy and personally works with her. And what do I like BEST? I like the quick and dramatic improvements my daughter is making! We never realized therapy could be so much FUN and that it could work so quickly! I think what makes Dr. Mane's program so successful is the fact that your child works with him in person three times a week and you get homework to do on the days the child is not working with Dr. Mane. Because he sees your child so often, he can quickly see if something isn't working or if the protocol needs to be adjusted. With other programs where you get evaluated and are sent home and you don't see the doctor or practitioner in person again for 3 or 6 months...the results for us would not be nearly as quick or as promising. Also, I find comfort in the fact that the doctor monitors my daughter to insure she isn't getting too much or too little stimulation to the area of the brain where her deficiency is being addressed. If you're anywhere near Tampa and you have a child showing any developmental issues....get to Dr. Mane ASAP!
